This means that your medical bills are your responsibility and you will have to pay for them yourself. Before undergoing any treatment, a quote detailing your hospitalisation, surgery and anaesthetic costs will be given to you so that you can see the total cost of your treatment up front. After you have completed your treatment, you will be given the corresponding invoices. Under certain conditions and depending on the provisions of your contract, your health insurance may be able to reimburse these invoices either in part or in full.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/li><li><a href=\"#\" class=\"opener\"><strong>Covered by the French social security system<\/strong><\/a><div class=\"slide-holder\"><div class=\"slide\"><p>You are covered by the French social security system and the French healthcare system. This means that the French social security system will cover your hospitalisation costs and <span class=\"tooltipck\" id=\"tooltipck69850\" rel=\"time=300|delayOut=500|offsetx=0|offsety=0\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\">part<\/span><span class=\"tooltipck-tip\" style=\"width:150px;\"><span class=\"tooltipck-inner\">Referred to as \u201cbase de remboursement\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/span> of your surgery and anaesthetic costs. The <span class=\"tooltipck\" id=\"tooltipck69892\" rel=\"time=300|delayOut=500|offsetx=-100|offsety=0\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\">remaining costs<\/span><span class=\"tooltipck-tip\" style=\"width:150px;\"><span class=\"tooltipck-inner\">Referred to as \u201cd\u00e9passements d\u2019honoraires\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/span> will be charged to you for which a quote will be provided.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Metmer is \u201cconventionn\u00e9 en secteur II avec d\u00e9passements d\u2019honoraires\u201d. This means that the cost of your consultations and procedures is reimbursed by health insurance at the rate of French social security system reimbursement rates. That said, a portion of these costs will not be reimbursed by health insurance. This portion may, however, be covered by your supplementary health insurance.
